Rockblock Syrah Del Rio 02
Rockblock
From the winery:
"Deep and dark aromas of black cherry, dried fig, licorice, graphite, mineral, clove and allspice. Intense palate of black fruits, anise, plum, with ample ripe tannins."
Vintage Notes "A Classical Oregon Vintage!" A cool, wet spring lead to bud break in mid-April. The driest June on record provided excellent conditions for bloom and uniform fruit set. Dry and moderate conditions allowed the harvest to begin the last week in September, slightly earlier than normal. Virtually ideal ripening conditions resulted in enticingly aromatic wines with vibrant flavors and great balance.
"The goal of the Rockblock Syrah brand is to make distinctive Oregon Syrah which displays both power and finesse in the glass." -Tony Rynders, Winemaker Vineyard The 2000 Rockblock Del Rio Vineyard Syrah is sourced entirely from Del Rio Vineyards in the Rogue Valley Appellation of southern Oregon. The vines are from the Noir clone and are grafted to 101-14 and SO4 rootstocks. They are planted to 1088 vines per acre.
