Russell Creek Tributary Red Wine 04

Russell Creek
Wine Spectator 91 points: ""Rich and distinctive. A supple red, with layers of cherry, currant, mint and cedar flavors, plus a cinnamon note that adds interest to the long, focused finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2008 through 2014."

Outstanding value, delicious, complex, lush, everything you could want in a big Cab/Merlot blend from Walla Walla. Our friend Denise sent a glass of this wine to the chef of a famous a restaurant in the Gorge, and he came out of the busy kitchen to find out what it is. When he heard the price, he ordered a bunch. He thought it was superlative. Larry makes another lovely vintage of his value wine, Tributary.

Wine Spectator rating 91 points for 2002 vintage: "Supple and generous, simply delicious; a plush mouthful of spicy raspberry, plum and cherry flavors shaded nicely with hints of mushroom and tomato stalk, all of it lingering gently on the finish. Tannins are unobtrusive. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2010." (HS)

CORRECTION: Our email of 6/14/0 was inaccurate. Charlie Hoppes is NOT the winemaker, owner and winemaker Larry Krivoshein made the wine, which is a blend of Cabernet and Merlot. We regret our mistake.

Russell Creek Tributary is an excellent blend of merlot and cabernet from a total of six different vineyards through out Washington. This red table wine has excellent body and a superb finish.
