Saviah Cellars Une Vallee Walla Walla 08
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
A heady perfume of vanilla cream, black cherry and blackberry introduces this effusive wine. A worthy follow-up to the previous vintage Une Vallee, the 2007 offers as much or more to enthuse over.
A delicious black cherry and blackberry compote of flavors is seasoned with notes of blueberry, toasted espresso bean, more vanilla cream, and black plum. Tannins are smooth and well matched to the intensity of the wine. With good acidity in the midst of so much luscious velvety fruit, and tannins with just a touch of grip, the 2007 is well suited to cellaring. We anticipate several years of oh-so-pleasant drinking for this affordable Walla Walla classic.
2007 Wine Spectator - 93 points - Spicy, complex and beautifully drawn, offering peppery, coriander-tinged cherry and blackberry flavors, hinting at black olive and licorice as the finish lingers effortlessly. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2017. 384 cases made. - H.S.
