Review:
2009 Wine Spectator - 92 points - Polished, velvety and expressive, offering black cherry, black olive, tobacco and dark spice flavors that glide into a long, complex finish. Approachable now, but can develop with cellaring. Best after 2014. - H.S.
The grapes for the 09 Syrah are sourced from three vineyards. The Watermill Estate is across from Cayuse, the Saviah Estate is new and the third vineyard Anna Marie, is in the Oregon portion of the Walla Walla AVA and is close to the famous Seven Hills. As the two previous vintages each received 93 points from Wine Spectator, you might be advised to stock up now before the next review. We suspect this will sell out quickly once the reviews are in.
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
2008 Wine Spectator - 93 points - Dark and distinctive, brimming with black olive, tar and grilled meat accents around a dense core of blackberry and black cherry flavors. A wine of depth and persistence. Drink now through 2018. - H.S.
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
2007 Wine Spectator - 93 points - Polished, focused and distinctive for its streaks of smoky roasted red pepper flashing through the blackberry and black cherry fruit. The structure feels solid, but the flavors shine through easily, and it all comes together harmoniously. Drink now through 2017. H.S.
2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
The 2006 vintage was outstanding in Walla Walla Valley. This is a delicious, full-bodied wine with a touch of smoky spice
and black fruit aromas on the nose. Concentrated flavors of cherry and blackberry, with a silky tannin profile. An elegant wine with abundant flavors that persist long after the wine is gone. -the winery
