Seven Hills Malbec
100 % Malbec, harvested from Windrow, Minnick, and McClellan Estate Vineyards, three hillside sites in the appellation sited under ideal conditions. Deep, purple-black color. Assertive scent of passion fruit and blueberry, with floral and spice notes. Medium weight body, with moderate tannin. Berry finish, slightly drying.
Malbec has a history in Bordelais and Cahors wines stretching back centuries. Its aging characteristics when grown in the Walla Walla Valley are evolving at this point, but the wine shows qualities that would indicate at least three to four years of enjoyable cellar life. Aged primarily in fine Hungarian oaks. Our first release since the 2003 vintage, and of very limited availability.
