Seven of Hearts Viognier/Roussanne 09

This is a blend of Viognier and Roussanne grapes grown on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. The Viognier contributes tropical/floral notes accompanied by structure, stone fruits, and ginger spiciness from the Roussanne.

Sourced from vineyards near Arlington, Oregon, along the Columbia Gorge, this wine is inspired by the great white wines of the Rhône region in France (as well as by a wonderfully approachable feline friend we made the acquaintance of during our last trip there). Spice-driven fragrances abound with perfumed apricot and orange-blossom from the Viognier and lemon/ginger aspects from the Roussanne. Complex and palate-staining on entry, but with fine zestiness and expansion, especially on the extending finish.
