Seven of Hearts makes Pinot noir in Oregon's Yamhill Carlton District of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Owners Byron and Dana Dooley moved to Oregon from California's wine country, where Byron made wine at Williams Selyem and trained in viticulture and winemaking. Dana owned a successful artisan chocolate company, which she has moved to McMinnville.
Byron and Dana own Luminous Hills Vineyard, planted in 2006. The vineyard is planted with Pinot noir - the Pommard Clone and the Dijon clones 777, 667, and 115. The Luminous Vineyard is farmed sustainably and has passed the first step towards certification as "Salmon-Safe". The first wine from the vineyard will be made in 2008.
