Review:
Tanzer 93 points
Dark fruit scents mingle with toast and sweet tobacco, signaling the entry into this dark, vivid, and rich 2010 Pinot. Spicy black currant and raspberry picks of hints of coffee and Chinese five-spice blend, before the finish sings with fresh blackberry. I recommend cellaring 2-3 years - it will last much longer. A blend of Pommard and Wadesnwil clones, only 225 cases produced. - Marcus
Tanzer 93 points: Bright ruby-red. Black raspberry, cherry-cola, star anise and violet on the perfumed nose. Pliant, sappy dark fruit flavors are lifted by juicy acidity and gain spiciness with air. Shows very good energy and focus on the finish, which leaves spicecake and dark berry skin notes behind. - J.R.

Beautifully bright cherry marries fleshy plum, creating a layered, best-of-both-worlds Shea Pinot. The finish finds an ideal harmony of rich and spicy, with cinnamon and thyme accenting the awesome, creamy-textured Pinot fruit. For fans of the previous Shea Pommard and Wadenswil Pinots (no longer made), Block 31 is a wine you'll love. It's a blend of 70% Pommard and 30% Wadenswil clones and we highly recommend it.
First vintage of this wine, made from one section (block) of the vineyard.
