Silverlake Winery
Silverlake is the seventh largest winery
in Washington, and a planned facility in the new Woodinville
"Wine Disneyland" will further expand their size. Known for good value
wines, they also produce a few "reserve" wines, some of which are well
made and well priced.
The winery is best known for its "Roza Riesling",
made from its Estate Roza Hills Vineyard. The winery's main location
is in the mid-Yakima Valley, in the town of Zillah.

Winemaker William Ammons
Mr. Ammons was raised in the Puget Sound region
and attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. He has worked
in all aspects of the beverage production industry producing Wine, sparkling
wines, fermented fruit ciders, sparkling waters and Boutique Sodas.
The Roza Hills Vineyard
In 1997Silverlake purchased a 665 acre site known as "Roza Hills" just
outside of the small Eastern Washington town of Zillah. Roza Hills
Vineyard is truly a special site in the Columbia Valley. At an
elevation of 1100-1300 feet above sea level the vineyard is in a natural
southern sloping bowl that sits on the southern slope of the Rattlesnake
Hills. Roza Hills produces outstanding red wines with intense varietal
character.
A portion of the site was originally planted in 1982 by Walt Hansen
and Milt Kuolt, founder of Horizon Airlines and Thousand Trails. The
vineyard had never been owned by a winery, but hundreds of award winning
wines over the past 20 years can trace the origins of their fruit to
Roza Hills. There are now 225 acres planted to varietal grapes with additional
plantings occurring each year.
