2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
2008 Wine Spectator - 90 points - Dark and spicy, this is silky in texture and fragrant with smoke, toast and mineral overtones as the cherry fruit character rolls nicely through the long finish. Drink now through 2016. - H.S.
A local find, Spindrift nailed it in 2008. Easy-going black cherry and subtle oak add a round feel. This is good juice.
The nose suggested coffee, burnt sugar, flat cola, black tea, menthol and mocha cherry cheesecake. The Spindrift was lean in the mouth (not overly fruity), with more acidity, green herb flavors, bright fruit and acids. This wine tasted more like a Burgundy than the others. It tied for first in our tasting. - Tennessean, June 2010
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
Aromas of spicy wood, red berry fruit notes along with an earthy stoniness. The light body is full with flavors of oak, cherry, and minerality with bright acidity with a full lingering finish. This wine will age very well in a cellar for many years and matches well with pastas, pizzas, and meats, or can be enjoyed all on its own.
