2009 Wine Spectator - 92 points - This is focused, ripe, deftly balanced and generous with its dark berry and mint flavors, lingering enticingly against light prickles of tannins on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2016. 2,500 cases made. - H.S.
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
2008 Wine Spectator - 93 points - This has density without excess weight, showing a real depth to its cherry, cinnamon, almond and cedar flavors, lingering against crisp tannins. Impressive for its deft balance and the way the finish sneaks up on you. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Best from 2013 through 2016. - H.S.
The nose is extremely refined and complex with scents of bright currant, clove, licorice, wheat, cigar box, almond paste, and orange extract. The palate is rich with bright acid and ripe cherry flavors, and polished tannins linger on a very long finish rich with notes of roasted coffee. - the winery
