St Innocent Shea Pinot noir 05
This Shea is a dark ruby color. Its nose is layered with dark fruits, orange peel, and dark flowers with spices underneath. The initial flavors rich with red and black raspberries, dried flowers and spice. With air, the '05 Shea reveals substantial layers, depth and density. While my Shea Pinot noirs have developed more depth as the vines have become older, this vintage is striking in its dimensionality. Texturally, ripe tannins coat your tongue with hints of oak and fresh acidity that carries the fruit layers into the finish. I expect it to develop for over more than a decade. - Mark Vlossak, winemaker

St Innocent Temperance Hill Pinot noir 05
The 2005 Temperance Hill is a deep ruby red. It has a dense and rich aroma of black cherries and dried, chocolate covered cherries with hints of lilac and other purple flowers. With air, the aromas liven and become sweet. Red and black fruits dominated the palate with spice and earth notes. I am struck by the depth of the 2005 Temperance Hill. The complexity in this wine reminds me more of Shea. During my initial tasting, I allowed a bottle to sit on the table for 10 days (60% full). Expecting it to be shot, my wife and I were amazed at the layers of flavors, fresheness, and pleasure in the bottle. This Temperance Hill will open significantly over the next six months and should evolve over a decade.

When I fire up the barbecue, this is the wine I serve. It matches perfectly with grilled meats, vegies and potato salad (my favorite summer meal). It is also a wonderful match with grilled salmon. - Mark Vlossak, winemaker 5/07

St Innocent Justice Pinot noir 05
Extremely Limited
It is unusual and very attractive for Pinot noir to have primary spice aromas. The 2005 Pinot noir, Justice Vineyard has clove and cinnamon aromas along with lush red fruits. The clove notes carry into the mouth along with raspberry and black raspberry fruits with concentrated fruit notes carrying into its finish. One of the most unique facets of Justice Pinot noirs is the way its flavors coat your mouth with an almost creamy texture that reaches into your cheeks. All of this is enhanced by a lovely backbone of fresh acidity. This wine is a great match for chops, grilled meats, salmon, and a wide variety of risotto and pasta dishes. I expect it to evolve over 5 or more years, although Pinots from young vines are awfully lovely in their youth. - Mark Vlossak, winemaker 5/2007

St Innocent White Rose Pinot noir 05
Extremely limited
St. Innocent White Rose Pinot noir has acquired a well deserved reputation as our most hedonistic wine. It is the only wine that I do not focus on the details of aroma or flavor. Instead, I enjoy the pleasure, it is drop dead gorgeous. Aromas of ripe red fruits and hints of sweet smoky oak, it fills your mouth with dark fruits and red flowers. Still a bit awkward from bottling, it should integrate by late summer (2007). 2005 was a particularly low yielding vintage in the Dundee Hills. Even in a normal year, it is our smallest lot of Pinot noir and this year our production was down 40%. Drink it now or age it up to 8 years. - Mark Vlossak, winemaker
