Anden Vineyard is the lower part of the Seven Springs Vineyard.

Avalon says: St Innocent Pinot noirSt Innocent's Anden Vineyard Pinot noir 06 erupts from the glass with aromas of ripe, black-fruit jam, cream, and pie spice. Sweet, round blackberry, black currant and black cherry flavors are complemented by spicy oak and white pepper. A rich, creamy toast and lingering sweetness continue through the finish, with fine tannins providing structure.

Mark says: The 2006 Anden has aromas of lush red and black fruits, spice, and pepper. Those same aromas are reflected onto the palate which is full with sweet berry fruits, pie spices, and hints of black pepper flavors. Immersed in the dark fruit components is an inherent sweetness and richness to the flavors that reflects widely over your palate. The tannins are ripe and substantial, and are in harmony with the powerful fruit. The '06 Anden will improve for 10-12 years.

St Innocent
Zenith Vineyard Pinot noir 06
$38.95/$35.05

St Innocent Pinot noirAvalon says: The St Innocent Zenith Vineyard Pinot noir 06 says "hey, check me out!" The most open and forward of the new 06 St. Innocent Pinots, it has huge, expressive aromas of savory sweet bacon and grilled plums. The wine opens up on the palate with ripe red cherry notes and exotic cardamom and clove on the finish. Layered hints of black currant explode throughout, then savory notes reappear. The Zenith Vineyard, formerly O'Connor, is St. Innocent's estate vineyard. A delicious new offering.

Mark says: Rich aromas of spice, smoky oak, and green peppercorns are mixed with black cherries and strawberry jam. Ripe red and black fruit flavors with spice and cedar notes and backed up by ripe tannins and moderate acidity. The wine's texture focuses on the mid-tongue with the spice and black fruits extending into the finish. Best enjoyed in its youth, it will develop more complexity over 5 years.
