Special, very limited red blend of Cabernet and Merlot from Northstar, who also bring you superb Merlots. Just lovely- huge nose of roasting espresso bean and mocha, smooth, rich flavors of black cherry, red currant, big oaky but well integrated tannins. A worthy little sister to Northstar's $60 Merlot. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Wine Advocate 88 points.

From the winemaker: "Beautiful fruit and a dark, concentrated color. A mouthful of wine that packs in ripe plums, cherry and black currant with layers of vanilla, clove and chocolate. Well integrated oak adds to the wine's complexity and structure. The finish is long and generous, expressing supple tannins with ripe fruit characters typical of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot."
