Stoller SV Estate Pinot Noir 08

Aromas include plums, black cherries, violets and fresh turned earth with exotic spices. Flavors include such dark fruits as black cherry and plum with a hint of orange peel and kirsch, licorice and anise. This is a medium bodied wine with elegant structure and a persistent finish. The blocks selected for this wine come from the most mature plantings on the vineyard.

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

Aromas of toasted oak, spices, and vanilla lead into bright red fruits of Bing cherries and wild strawberries. The palate is complex and balanced, layering red fruits with earth, bright acidity and medium tannins.

2007 Wine Advocate - 90 points - Stoller's 2007 Pinot Noir SV Estate (Senior Vines) is medium ruby-colored with an enticing bouquet of toast, spice box, floral notes, cherry and raspberry. Smooth-textured, savory, and intense, this nicely balanced, lengthy effort will evolve for 1-2 years and offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2019. - Jay Miller

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes

2006 Wine Spectator - 90 points - Soft, silky and open-textured, this shows its ripe currant and cherry fruit beautifully, shading it with hints of black olive and forest floor aromas. The finish lingers enticingly. Drink now through 2014. - H.S.
