Stony Mountain Pinot noir McMinnville 06

Stony Mountain Vineyard is located outside McMinnville, Oregon, near Momtazi Vineyard. Grapes from this small vineyard are highly regarded by winemakers. Raptor Ridge and JK Carriere are two wineries whose Pinot noirs made from Stony Mtn fruit received high ratings.

The owner and winemaker releases a small amount of wine each year, usually only to local customers. This 2005 vintage is particularly nice. Medium bodied, balanced, and quite richly flavored, this Pinot's flavors range from red raspberry, red cherry, and blackberry. Hints of vanilla, toast, and soft sweet spice complement the fruit flavors.
