Syzygy Syrah Walla Walla 06

Syzygy Syrah Walla Walla 06 - Wine Spectator 93 points:
"Supple, seductive and explosive with its beautiful plum, huckleberry, cream and white pepper flavors that glide easily over a bed of polished tannins, lingering on the expressive finish. Drink now through 2013. 370 cases made." - HS
Beautiful ripe fruit and spice, balanced acidity and some nice tannins to back it all up. Have some patience and lay her down for a while or be sure to uncork it way ahead of drinking - if you just can't wait! .
370 cases produced, 100% Syrah, from the Walla Walla vineyards Seven Hills, Morrison Lane, and Les Collines.

Wine Spectator said: "Smooth and velvety, with beautifully focused blackberry, raspberry and plum fruit that bobs and weaves through fine tannins and persists enticingly on the long, long finish. A big wine with unexpected grace, this grabs hold and doesn't let go. Drink now through 2015. 470 cases made. H.S."
In the nose, the wines has characteristic meaty, toasty notes underlying the dominant black cherry scent. The flavor is lush and soft, with initial flavors of black cherry and black berry, followed by an explosively spicy hit of blackberry pie. The wine is generous and concentrated, meaty, dense, with full bodied flavors and hints of smoke, licorice, and cherry liquor. Everything is just as it should be in this wine, it has a copious amount of fruit, yet the balance of fruit, tannin, and acid is exceptional. We predict great reviews for this wine and eagerly look forward to Zach's future wines.
Made from a blend of Walla Walla Syrah from Seven Hills, Morrison Lane, Les Collines and a dash of fruit from Horse Heaven Hills vineyards . The Syzygy Syrah is 100% Syrah, and was aged in French oak for 16 months.
