93 points Wine Spectator and Highly Recommended!
Dense, focused and juicy, offering fresh blackberry and currant fruit, with a delicate savory edge weaving through the long, expressive finish. Approachable, but sturdy tannins need time to soften. Best from 2012 through 2019. 1,064 cases made. –HS
Powerful and full bodied with ripe and rich flavors of dark blackberry and chocolate layered with the spicy notes of new French oak. Of all the Tamarack reds, this shows the most length, complexity and balance.
For the 01 vintage: Wine Spectator rating 90 points: "Broad and generous, rich with blueberry, currant, and coffee flavors, picking up hints of spice, dusky herbs and cream as the flavors linger. Best from 2006 through 2012." H.S.
Wine Press NW rated "Outstanding"! "Loaded with aromas of rich berries, light oak and chocolate and bold yet elegant flavors of black cherries and a lingering finish."
Wine Press NW says: "Ron Coleman describes this as one of his best wines yet. If he's right, this is one amazing wine because Coleman has released one outstanding effort after another. This is his third consecutive Cab that has earned our top rating, and it's loaded with aromas of rich berries, light oak and chocolate and bold yet elegant flavors of black cherries and a lingering finish."
