Terra Blanca Viognier 05
The usual floral Viognier nose has hints of creamy vanilla, a result of the blending of 10% Rousanne in the wine. Flavors of crisp citrus and citrus peel combine with hints of buttery vanilla. The wine finishes with a fresh citrus crispness. Most pleasant and different. -jean
From the winery: "A perfume of apricots and peaches radiates from the glass, followed by flowery peach and apricot fl avors. Softer hints of walnut and spice preside over hints of pear, apricot and peach."

VINEYARD
Grown on 3 south-facing slopes of the Yakima valley, the 2004 vintage of Terra Blanca Viognier benefits from a long and warm growing season. Cool night time temperatures allow the grapes to retain their natural acidity, while warm sunny days allow the grapes to ripen completely. Low yields and diligent vineyard management produces grapes of flavor and distinction.
WINEMAKING
Fermentation was conducted in both one and two year old french barrels and in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The small barrel fermentation portion gives full rich aromatics and flavors while the majority stainless steel fermentated portion retains the freshness of the fruit and natural acids. The Roussanne adds additional depth, complexity and structure to the blend.
