The Pines 1852 Merlot 09
Deep, luscious in color, this full-bodied Merlot has a velvety mouth-feel with hints of huckleberry, dark chocolate and a black pepper finish. Enjoy with steak and pasta. - the winery
2005 Vintage Tasting Notes
Lush, fruity, with hints of mocha, espresso bean, and dark chocolate. A spicy, full-bodied wine with a strong balance between fruit and alcohol. This wine shows characteristics of lush blackberry fruit and black pepper. Enjoy with chocolate, steak, pork and salmon. Made by Peter Rosback (Sineann) from fruit from Pines Vineyard in The Dalles.
2002 vintage review:
Katherine Cole of the Oregonian says: "The Pines Vineyard" Columbia Valley Merlot 2002: Surprisingly sweet aroma of almond-and-plum tart dusted with powdered sugar, followed by a faint whiff of burning hay (The Pines Vineyard was farthest away from the Sheldon Ridge fire). Delicate blueberries and plums on the palate are replaced by a smoky and spicy finish."
