The Pines 1852 Old Vine Zinfandel 09
Planted by an Italian stone mason in the late 1800s, this Zin is one of the oldest vineyards in the Northwest. This Zin displays complexity of flavors that only come with age with black pepper, currant, and chocolate-covered cherry and aromas of raspberry, cherry and a hint of smoke. This wine will not disappoint your palate with its full-bodied finish, long legs and deep garnet color. - the winery

Made by Peter Rosback of Sineann, this wine is IDENTICAL to his Sineann Old Vine Zinfandel 05. It's the Sineann Old Vine Zinfandel 07, same bottle, just a different label for the vineyard owner - the delightful Lonnie Wright, whose family vineyard is the source for Sineann's Old Vine Zinfandel, and who get some of the wine each year.
In 1852, Lonny Wright's ancestors claimed a tract of land near The Dalles. There's a beautiful grove of pine trees next to Mill Creek- a very special site for a pioneer to homestead. Zinfandel grapes were planted 40 years later, and the vines are now 110 years old.
The wine is made by Peter Rosback and is the exact same wine as in his Old Vine Zinfandel. Huge and lush, drnking so well, it's had a year in bottle and is ready to drink.
Lonny Wright's The Pines 1852 vineyard was licked by flames during the 2002 Sheldon Ridge Wildfire in the Mill Creek Valley. Lonny and neighbor Tim Schechtel (Erin Glenn vineyard) fought the fire with garden hoses and buckets, and saved the vineyard.
