Review:
An exuberant Washington State Zinfandel with a boisterous personality. Happy-making wine for dancing around the house like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. So easy to love, it's all about the fruit - cherry, raspberry, strawberry, and plum. A dark earthy note adds depth. - Jean
"What is Primi-Vito?"... related to Zinfandel, the bold vivacious Primitivo fruit is a genetic equivalent to Zinfandel. Most Primitivo based wines are from southern Italy, in the Puglia region.
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
Sourced from two vineyards (Coyote Canyon and Stone Tree). Same bold flavors of fantastic dried cherry flavors, exotic spice, along with a bit more complexity due to multiple sources.
Raspberry/plum/earth nose; in
the mouth you're met by gregarious red fruits (berry, cherry, plum) with
suggestions of roast coffee/earth; not spicy. Forward fruit gives way to a
crisp, balanced finish. - the winemaker
A legal dispute with another winery led to a change from the winery's first name, "Three Angels" to "Angel Vine".
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
Cherry, strawberry and rhubarb scents mingle as the Three Angels Primitivo Coyote Canyon 07 is poured. Flavors of fresh cherries and earth finish with concentrated plum and dark fruit notes. Pair with bold dishes made with tomatoes, black olives and capers. Drink now through 2011.
