Tranche Cellars

Tranche Cellars

Tranche Cellars is hot. Right from the get-go, this sister winery to even hotter Corliss Cellars has turned heads. The owners do everything right, taking their time from vineyard, to winery, to barrel aging, to release. Like Corliss, the Tranche crew always goes for the highest quality solution, even when it's the hardest.

Tranche Cellars started as part of Corliss Cellars. In 2010 the winery moved out on its own, with a new winery facility and the Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard. Tranche's wines attracted attention immediately, initially for their connection with Corliss. Their first vintage was exceptional, and each new vintage just gets better. Tranche maintains close connections with Corliss, but the wines stand on their own.

More About Tranche Cellars

Tranche's raison d'Ítre is the Rhone. Their " Slice of Pape" (pronounced "pop") series of wines focuses on the wines of France's Southern Rhone region (a la Chateneau-de-Pape) and is Tranche's take on classic Old World style.

Tranche focuses on making Washington versions of the wines of the Rhone, but along the way, they've come up with some Pacific Northwest classics as well, part of their "varietal" series of wines. Their Pinot gris is sourced from a rare cool site in the Columbia Valley and is elegant and austere. Their Chardonnay is a creamy, balanced, and concentrated, and is usually made with fruit from the Celilo Vineyard. An Estate Syrah and Cabernet Franc round out the portfolio.

Dedicated to creating their own unique style with only the best tools and people, Tranche wines are made to collect, share, and enjoy. Keep an eye on this winery - it's going somewhere great.
