Steve Brooks' Trust wines eschew the flash and frills of many Walla Walla wineries. What you get is straightforward, honest, delicious wines, Cabernet in this case. The pure, lip-smacking Cab core delivers cassis and black cherry flavors that are deep and velvety. Espresso and sage rounds out the mix, which makes it a great choice for beef of all stripes.

From the winery: We are greeted here with a nose full of cherry cordials: high-cacao chocolate, Kirsch, and a pie cherry in the middle. The fruit here (cassis, plum, and black cherry) has purity and focus, and it is framed by fresh notes of eucalyptus and green tea. This is balanced, elegant, food-friendly Cabernet: moderate in body, acid, tannin, and alcohol.

Loaded with creamy, black cherry goodness. Layers of dark plum and currant are interwoven with a hint of eucalyptus and cocoa. Superbly balanced and integrated, the Trust 06 opens up nicely with decanting. An Avalon Northwest Big Reds Club Selection, January 2009.

80% Cabernet from Champoux, Phinney Hill, and Bacchus Vineyards, plus 20% Merlot from Conner Lee Vineyard. Aged in 50% new French oak.

Trust Cellars was created on the blind trust of proprietors Steve and Lori Brooks who left their high powered jobs at CNN and moved their life to Walla Walla. Trust us, we are glad they did.

New release from rising star Walla Walla producer. The 2005 Trust Cab is 75% Cabernet from Champoux, Va Piano, and Lewis Vineyards blended from 25% Merlot from Pepperbridge Vineyard.

This wine is layered with dark chocolate, big black cherry, and a very slight whiff of mint. Ever so slightly restrained at the moment, this wine will benefit from a bit of time in the cellar or a little decanting. This is definitely a food lovers wine and would pair well with hearty meats like roasted duck or beef.
