Two Mountain Winery

Two Mountain Winery is a family affair. Owned and operated by brothers Matthew and Patrick Rawn, their family has been farming the rich soil in the Rattlesnake Hills area of Washington State's Yakima Valley for more than half a century. In 1951, their grandfather Phil Schmidt established Schmidt Orchards with 40 acres of peaches, apricots, prunes and apples. They planted Copeland Vineyard in 2000 with their uncle, Ron Schmidt, and crushed their first vintage in 2002. Today, three generations contribute their talents and expertise to Two Mountain Winery and their 26 acre estate vineyard.

At Two Mountain, family does not just mean the human variety. Their winery could not function without the help of the canine members. The four beauties shown below are a vital part of the business. Bentley, the basset hound, is responsible for keeping the cool concrete tasting floor from mysteriously rising to the ceiling and he can be found there for long periods of time. Gus, the light coated yellow lab, is the greeter who makes sure all visitors have the opportunity to pet him. Rudy, the darker coated lab, is the watchman who supervises the tasting room from the comfort of his doggy bed and Stoli, the yellow lab/Bernese Mountain Dog mix is the youngest member of the group who is apprenticing with Gus to learn how to be a greeter.
