Review: The 09 barrel select evokes flowers, fruit, earth and spice. Silky in texture, this blend 75% own-rooted Old Vine Pommard and 25% newer vine Dijon clone 777. 2009 Tanzer - 90 points - Vivid ruby-red. Sexy aromas of ripe raspberry, cola, Asian spices, licorice and mocha. Focused and sappy, with strong cinnamon and star anise notes adding complexity to the cherry, red berry and cola flavors. Finishes silky and long, with gentle tannins and appealing sweetness. - J.R.
