This powerful and intense wine contains 76% old vine Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. It has a dark tooth-staining blackberry hue and layers of flavors that grab and hold on to your palate. This expressive, plump wine will have a long life, so it can be enjoyed over the next ten years. This beautifully balanced wine contains jam-packed flavors of Marion berry, blueberry, dark ox heart cherries and Fran's Chocolate Sauce. The echoing finish is pure and focused. A food pairing with this flavorful wine is roasted rack of lamb coated with toasted, buttered breadcrumbs with thyme and Maille Dijon Mustard, cheesy twice-baked russet potatoes and roasted asparagus. Wine Spectator 89 points: "Spicy, velvety style has a green olive note weaving through the ripe cherry and pepper flavors, finishing with impressive generosity. A firm, rich mouth feel begins with cassis and black berry, leading towards chocolate and mocha. The is generous and long. While this wine can be enjoyed now, it will definitely benefit from additional cellaring and, with proper storage, should develop for eight years or more." |
