Walter Scott Wines' Ken and Erica got marriedKen and Erica got married! February 2012 - photo at right.

Walter Scott Wines is the family winery of two Oregon wine scene favorites, Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon.

Ken Pahlow's knowledge of Burgundy was nurtured during his ten years representing French wines at one of Oregon's top Burgundy distributors. He was Oregon Sales Manager for Evening Land Vineyards in 2009, working with owner and Burgundy expert Mark Tarlov and star winemakers Isabelle Meunier and Dominique Lafon. Today, Ken and Erica make wine under their Walter Scott label, and he represents the Burgundy portfolio of Scott Paul in Oregon.

While working full time selling wine for the last fourteen years, Ken also worked during harvest, assisting in all aspects of winemaking at St. Innocent and Patricia Green Cellars. In 2009, he not only worked with the Patty Green team during harvest but also made his first vintage of Walter Scott Wines.

Erica's early experience took her to both sides of the Willamette Valley from the top of Mt. Hood at Timberline Lodge's Cascade Dining Room to the heart of Oregon's wine country at The Ponzi Family's Dundee Bistro where she managed the wine programs and dining room.

Erica is currently Wine Director for the Bruce Carey Restaurants and The Heathman Restaurant. She is also a member and instructor for the International Sommelier Guild, where she shares her passion and excitement about wine with her students.

I tasted the Verte and it went right to the top of my list of 2010 Pinots. A gorgeous, refreshing initial splash leads with fresh raspberries and a laser-like precision that glides across your mid palate. The white pepper finish makes this a nice...

Walter Scott La Combe Verte "Second Release" 2010

This should have "Reserve" on the label, since it has another dimension of complexity, both in the nose and texture. Exotic and spicy, come-hither aromas. A creamy, rounded palate with a little bit of muscle. And a snappy raspberry and fresh blac...
