Review:

This is classic Cabernet. Dark red in color, it has aromatics of dark berries and cassis. The elegant structure is followed by a long finish. At under $25, this is a great value. 250 cases made.

Watermill Winery was established in 2005. Located in Milton-Freewater on the Oregon side of the Columbia River, it is just 10 miles from downtown Walla Walla, the epicenter of the Walla Walla AVA.

The owners of Watermill describe their goals: their mission is to "create some of the finest wines produced in the Walla Walla Valley." The wines have already received positive reviews and good scores from the likes of Wine Enthusiast , the Seattle Wine Awards and the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition show that they are definitely on the right track.

The Vineyards: Watermill has four vineyards to work with. The Anna Marie was planted in 2001 and sits on a slope with a view of the Walla Walla Valley. The McLellan Estate Vineyard was planted in 2003 followed by the Watermill Estate Vineyard in 2006. The Dugger Creek Vineyard was planted in 2009 and the winery looks forward to harvesting its fruit in the near future.
