Dark red color, and has a direct nose with expressive aromas of blackberry, toast, cherry cola, spices and milk chocolate. The flavors and feeling on the palate are very pleasant, with red cherry, black currants, chocolate, flowers and some minerals. This wine has definite age ability, but is really delicious now, with soft tannins, good ripeness and balanced acidity.
47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc
From the winery: "The Cabernet Sauvignon is from Cold Creek and Lewis Vineyards, the Merlot from Canoe Ridge and the
Cabernet Franc from Chelle den Pleasant. Both Cold Creek and Canoe Ridge were acquired from St. Michelle Wine Estates, warm sites in the Horse Heaven Hills appellation. Cold Creek has some of the oldest Cab blocks in the state with naturally low yields that add structure and depth, while Canoe Ridge produces classic Merlot. Lewis and Chelle Den Pleasant are both located off Gap road in Prosser (Yakima Valley) and are much cooler sites. Both of these lots were picked in late October with the Cabernet Franc providing the
"earthiness" and Lewis providing the acidity backbone."
