White Rose Chehalem Mountains Pinot noir 09

Review:

The 2009 Pinot Noir Appellation Series Chehalem Mountain is a barrel selection from three vineyards in that AVA and was made with 25% whole clusters with aging in 14% new French oak for 15 months. Aromas of Asian spices, incense, smoke, clove, cherry, and raspberry inform the nose of a moderately structured, ripe, spicy wine that has the structure and balance to evolve for 1-2 years. It will deliver prime drinking from 2012 to 2019. - Jay Miller

262 cases made

The 2009 Chehalem Mtns Pinot has complex aromatics of black cherry, blackberry, violets, cola, red licorice and truffles. The palate is full with intense flavors and pronounced, bold tannins that will soften with time. Good balance and above average acidity and structure should allow this wine to evolve for another 5-7 years. Drink now - 2018. - the winery

Grapes from Lia's (Jacob Hart), Luciole, Bell Road vineyards.
