White Rose Dundee Hills Pinot noir 09

Review:

Classic Dundee Hills aromas of rose petals, red fruit, minerality and brown spices such as cinnamon and clove. The wine is very elegant and bright on the palate with moderate weight, silky, tight structure and very good length. This wine will continue to build weight and complexity, evolving in bottle over the next 3-5 years. Drink 2011-2018. - the winery

Made from White Rose and Durant Vineyards fruit.

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

White Rose was one of the breakout stories of the 2008 vintage. Four of their high-end Pinots raked in huge scores while the White Rose Dundee Hills 08 got passed over. It's time this Pinot gets the proper attention.

Why? Because it is damn good. Sticking your nose in the glass makes your mouth water. Exotic and savory, with trademark candied roses shining alongside sandalwood and cinnamon. Intense, bold and vibrant, the fruit pops with excitement from your first sip, giving way to sweet, dark cherry and raspberry. The perfect amount of tannin makes the finish echo. I recently hosted a blind tasting of a dozen 2008 Oregon Pinots. White Rose Dundee Hills Pinot noir 08 was the wine of the night. It's so good, it makes me want to swear.

Normally $45, we're offering this as part of any 12 bottle order for $37.76. It's a steal compared to the $75 tag of the other White Rose wines. - Marcus

Wine Advocate 91 points!

Wine Advocate: The 2008 Pinot Noir Appellation Series Dundee Hills offers a more fragrant, complex bouquet with notes of smoke, cinnamon, incense, cherry, and raspberry. Made in a racy, elegant style with plenty of succulent red fruit flavors, lively acidity, and precision, it has the balance and structure to unwind for several more years. It will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2020. - Jay Miller
