Jim Bernau, Willamette Valley Vineyards Founder and President

The largest winery in Oregon, WVV offers a huge range of wines from several different wineries in categories from basic table wine to exceptional single vineyard wines. The labels Griffin Creek, Tualatin Vineyards, Made in Oregon, and Willamette Valley Vineyards are all part of WVV.

The winery has steadily upgraded the quality of its offerings over the last few years. With the hiring of a new winemaker in 1997, Joe Dobbes, the winery expanded its selection of higher end wines. The winery's offerings now include Griffin Creek Viognier, a WVV late harvest Viognier, and a sparkling "Frizzante" early Muscat. Joe has moved on and assistant winemaker ---------- is now winemaker.

Their selection of single vineyard Pinot Noirs has grown and they now offer a highly regarded "Karina Vineyard" Pinot Noir, from grapes sourced from Alpine Vineyards. Joe Dobbes has created his own "Joe Dobbes Signature Cuvee" Pinot noir.

The winery and tasting facility sit atop Ilahee Hill just south of Salem, Oregon. The surrounding 50 acre estate vineyards are planted to select clones of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling.

In addition to its estate vineyards, its Tualatin holdings, and its Griffin Creek wines, Willamette Valley Vineyards purchases fruit from many additional sites throughout Oregon.
