Review:

2010 Wine Advocate - From a block of this famous Yamhill-Carlton vineyard planted with the locally traditional Wadenswil and Pommard selections, Winderlea’s 2010 Pinot Noir Shea is intensely redolent of cherry with its pit, green herbal extracts and licorice. Fuller than its stable mates (and, at 13.75%, measurably a bit higher), it’s penetratingly persistent without being especially bright or juicy; a bit sweet-sour; and shows both its tannins and its (albeit only 35% new) oak more than its fellow Winderlea Pinots, too. This is one to revisit within a couple of years, and while I can only speculate, I am sure it’s not about to fall apart over the next 6-8. - David Schildknecht
