Review:
2010 Wine Advocate - 90 points - The Winderlea Dundee Hills-appellated 2010 Pinot Noir is sourced from the Winderlea estate along with a who’s who of other Worden Hill Road vineyards: Ana; Murto; Juliard; (subjected to single vineyard bottling in 2009 but too low-yielding in 2010 to permit that treatment); and for the first time this vintage, Maresh. Lovely, bright red currant and red raspberry fruit is mingled with mouthwateringly saline, red meaty savor and underlain by a suggestion of wet stone. The combination of polish and vivacity here strikes me as typical both for the vintage and for the work of winemaker Robert Brittan; and the high-toned, almost distilled as well as fresh red berry character seems to typify fruit from this corridor. Look for this rapier and downright refreshingly finishing Pinot to show well for at least 6-8 years and quite possibly to take on a bit of weight and further complexity. David Schildknecht
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
Robert Brittan makes Dundee Hills Pinot with everything I like: silky, elegant, super pretty fruit, with a focus on crushed
raspberry and cherry. His always supple fruit stays lively through the
finish with hints of mineral, even in the warmer vintages. - Marcus
2009 Wine Advocate - 91 points - The 2009 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is a forward offering exhibiting exotic spice notes, rose petal, cherry, and raspberry flavors. In the glass it opens to reveal a velvety texture, succulent flavors, good concentration, and a lengthy finish. It, too, is meant for drinking over the next 5-6 years. - Jay Miller
