Winderlea Vineyard Chardonnay 07
Winderlea Vineyard Chardonnay 07 - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 Points:
"The 2007 Chardonnay was sourced from the Carabella and Hyland Vineyards. Most of the wine was aged in barrel (87% with 13% new) and the balance in stainless steel. Medium straw-colored, it offers up an excellent nose of baking spices, mineral, apple, poached pear, and a hint of pineapple. Mouth-filling on the palate with vibrant natural acidity, it has superb depth and concentration, a creamy texture, and a lengthy, pure finish. It may well evolve for 1-2 years and can be enjoyed through 2015."
"Winderlea Vineyard and Winery is owned by Donna Morris and Bill Sweat who purchased the former Goldschmidt Vineyard in 2006. Now known as the Winderlea Vineyard, it was originally planted in 1972 with the oldest remaining blocks dating from 1974. The owners are moving toward biodynamic farming."
