Review:
All Estate Vineyard fruit, this wine is made for easy drinking - dense, rich, smooth, sweet raspberry and cherry with a hint of spiciness. Ready to go right now. Great value. Enjoy with a hearty steak or sip while reading in front of the fireplace.
The 2011 Chainsaw presents aromas of fresh berries, dried herbs and barnyard. It maintains a pure, clean mouth feel with a core of fresh red fruits. Ripe strawberries, bing and black cherries, along with subtle notes of currant are accentuated by more herbal nuances such as thyme, savory and sweet marjoram. Quite light and lively now, the 2011 Chainsaw will continue to flesh-out and broaden within the coming months. It is an ideal pairing with a multitude of cheeses, roasted game birds or grilled, flaky fish. - the winery
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
Produced from entirely estate grown fruit, it is made from lots in the cellar that are selected for early drinkability. Densely colored in the glass, the wine offers a delightful nose full of red fruits and spice. On the palate it is medium bodied and offers lovely fruit flavors that are balanced by a kiss of well-integrated French oak, tannin, and acidity. The finish lingers on. - the winery
