Witness Tree Vintage Select Pinot noir 07Review: Here's the story: wine writers and critics generally panned Oregon's 2007 vintage. Do I blame them for being short-sighted? Kind of. Because those of us who live and breathe Oregon Pinot knew that for the most part, the critics were wrong. Now, several years later, the curse is slowly being lifted from Oregon's 2007 vintage. Why? Because a lot of 07's, like Witness Tree's Vintage Select, are tasting fantastic right now, and there are killer deals to be had. Savory red cherry with a woodsy note, opening to a beautiful array of crushed red berries on the palate. It deepens towards the finish, picking up blackberry and hints of caramel and spice. A great wine for drinking today, it could also hang out in your cellar for another couple years. - Marcus Winemaker Steven Westby says: "black fruit and vanilla, rich and expansive, silky smooth."
