Review: Aromas include black cherry, cassis and toasty oak. Flavors of dark fruit and mocha with pleasant, thick tannins. Approachable now this wine will be even better after a few years in the cellar. 2008 Vintage Tasting Notes DOUBLE GOLD WINNER at the 2012 Seattle Wine Awards! The nose starts with appealing notes of creme de cassis, black fruits, and baking spices. The palate shows fruit galore with wonderful supple tannins, wrapped around a core of black fruits. It has amazing depth, and a polished mouth-feel revealing cola tones, black cherry and plum. This wine will peak in 3–5 years but is poised to mature nicely in the cellar, giving a decade or more of pleasure. 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 11% Malbec. - Marcus We can identify with talented winemaker and just really nice guy Sean Boyd, winemaker at Woodinville WIne Cellars. Sean's involvement with wine began at a wine retailer Liquor Barn in California, where he grew up. The son of the original editor of Wine Spectator, Sean grew up around wine lovers, passionate foodies, and professional wine writers. Traveling the world, Sean made wine in Spain, Australia, and New Zealand before settling in Washington State. Joining Woodinville Wine Cellars in the summer of 2005, he's taken the wines in an approachable, food-friendly direction - Woodinville wines pair harmoniously with fine food and pleasant company. While "big" in the Washington wine tradition, Sean's wines aren't monolithic - they express the best qualities of each varietal. His wines range from deep, rich Syrahs with bass notes of chocolate, leather, and espresso, to a Sauvignon Blanc, one of his favorite grapes, aged in Oregon oak. From the winery: The 2007 Indomitable represents the best of the best! The blend for our flagship wine is made from only the best barrels (and in 2007 we had a lot of amazing barrels to choose from). 2007 was also one of the best vintages Washington has seen, giving this release the most complexity of any prior vintage.
