Casima is a combination of the name of business partner Glen Boyd's children Cameron, Simon and Maggie. Casima is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 15% Sangiovese. The fruit comes from several vineyards including Alder Ridge, Dubrul and Elephant Mountain. The 2005 vintage received 91 points from Wine Spectator.

2005 Vintage Tasting Notes

2005 Wine Spectator - 91 points - Casima Columbia Valley - Rich and aromatic, bursting with sandalwood and mocha-accented blueberry and cherry flavors, nicely wrapped in fine, crisp tannins. The fruit lingers beautifully on the long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. Best from 2008 through 2013. 425 cases made. - H.S.

From the Winery: A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 15% Sangiovese from Yakima valley vineyards, it is marked by a ripe body and a polished finish. The wine undergoes extended maceration to yield a big fleshy wine that can benefit from additional cellaring. It is aged in 100% new French Oak for 15 months and 9 months in bottle prior to release.
