Zenith Vineyard Tempranillo Estate 09

Review:

2009 Wine Advocate - 91 points - The 2009 Tempranillo was aged in 29% new oak. Smoke, meat, violets, and blackberry aromas lead to a wine with excellent density and richness. It has the stuffing to evolve for 2-3 years at which point it is likely to exhibit greater complexity.

Tim Ramey, owner of Zenith Vineyard, had his first vintage in 2006. He purchased the former O’Connor Vineyard, planted in 1982, built a winery, and hired Mark Vlossak of St. Innocent to make the wines. - Jay Miller
