Zenith Vineyard

Situated on Zenith Road west of Salem in the Eola-Amity AVA, Zenith Vineyard is located on the site of what was previously known as O'Connor Vineyard. Tim and Kari Ramey purchased the property from Pat O'Connor in 2002 and soon after partnered with Mark Vlossak at St. Innocent winery to have him make their wines. In 2006 they again partnered with him in building the new St. Innocent winery and event center, which opened late that year.

With Mark's assistance in the winery and Pedro Martinez's in the vineyard, they tend 45 acres on top of primarily silty clay soils planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In addition to having Mark make superb red and whites for them, they also sell fruit to some of the top names in the state, including: Ponzi Vineyards, Adelsheim Vineyard, Grochau Cellars, Vincent Wine Co., Biggio Hamina, Seufert Winery, Wildaire Cellars, Chateau Bianca, Broadley Vineyards, Elemental Cellars and Lange Winery.

Just over the hill from Cristom and not far from Bethel Heights, Witness Tree and Evesham Wood, many believe this is some of the most expressive winemaking terroir in the entire state. A gap in the Oregon coast range directly west called the Van Duzer corridor allows coastal breezes to moderate hotter temperatures in the summer. This is instrumental in maintaining the generous levels of acidity that are a signature of the Eola-Amity Hills.
