Aromas of melon, lavender and quince dominate the nose. In the mouth it is delightfully crisp and full bodied. It finishes with a long citrus/lemon after taste. It is an incredibly versatile wine going with traditional Chardonnay dishes such as veal or chicken and traditional dry Riesling dishes of scallops or crab.

Wine Press NW "Double Gold" award for the 04. Wonderful with chicken, fish, sipping with cheese or appetizers. Sophisticated "white" for those who don't like red wine, when you're serving a great meal.

Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:

Wine Press NW says: "For more than a quarter-century, Myron Redford has crafted beautiful wines. This Pinot Blanc perfectly reflects the best of this delicate variety. Beautiful aromas of peaches, fresh figs and blossoms lead to fruit-driven flavors of fresh apples. One judge was reminded of a classic Rheingau. Won gold at the McMinnville Wine & Food Classic."

From the winery:

2001 Tasting notes

Our Pinot blanc is a dry, crisp wine with a melon/mineral aroma. It is well balanced with a pleasant finish and goes well with many different foods. Try it with traditional Chardonnay matches such as veal and pasta and traditional dry Riesling dishes such as Scallops and shrimp. It is so versatile that it has become the white wine of choice in our home.

"Myron Redford, one of the founding winemakers of the modern Oregon wine industry, has helped set the standard for quality pinot blanc...which has been gaining well deserved ground over the past few years thanks to a small group of outstanding producers, including Amity Vineyards." - Richard Kinssies.
