Amity Pinot Noir Estate Single VIneyard 03

Winery: Amity

Intense and rich with good acid and big tannin structure, which will allow it to cellar for the next 10-15 years. A very complex nose of black cherry, plum, earth and spice leads into a well balanced wine with great texture.

1999 Vintage Tasting Notes

From the winery:

The wine is a deep purple color with an intense red and black cherry nose. Earthy tones come through on the nose with a hint of vanilla and spicy elements. The tannins and acid are lively but balanced. This is a smooth, medium-bodied Pinot noir that will cellar for up to 10 years. The grapes were hand harvested. Each vineyard lot was fermented separately with manual punch-downs done twice daily. Fermentations lasted from October 20th 1999 to November 12th 1999. Fermentation temperatures peaked in the high 70's (Fahrenheit). The wines were settled for 2-3 days before being racked off the lees to neutral French oak barrels. We produced 1980 cases of this wine and it was bottled in October of 2000. Alcohol - 12.6%, pH - 3.52 and TA - 5.5g/l.
