MORE INFORMATION

From the winery:

Planted in 1970, on red, jory, volcanic soil, Sunnyside Vineyard is one of the oldest and best vineyards in the Northern Willamette Valley. This wine has a nose typical of this vineyard. It starts off with a compelling combination of earth, forest floor, cedar and spice. As it continues to open up in the glass there are more intense notes of raspberry, cherry and dried black cherry. These carry through into the mouth and the warm lingering finish. The wine is medium bodied with firm rich tannins. It is just starting to come into its own and it should hit maturity in 3 to 6 years. This wine is the second in our series of Iris labels done in conjunction with Schreiners Iris Gardens in Salem, Oregon. Only 279 cases were produced. The wine was bottled in October 2000 and available only in 750ml bottles. The alcohol is 13.6%, acidity 5.6g/L and the pH is 3.66.
