$26.95 - Case price (any 12 or more bottles) Price: $29.95 Belle Pente Pinot Noir Murto Reserve 03: From the winery: A very small crop at Murto vineyard (coupled with the nature of the growing season) resulted in our earliest ever harvest at this site, beginning on September 25th and finishing on October 4th. Sugar levels were quite elevated with many of the lots coming in over 25 Brix, and even after adjustments the finished wine is over 14% alcohol. Flavor development was superb, and the wine shows classic Dundee Hills ripe red fruit and fresh earthiness. Since Murto is a cooler site with mature vines (planted in 1978), it tends to really over-perform in warm vintages. As in 2002, the grapes attained a high level of maturity which translates into a smooth, silky texture in the wine. The signature Murto spiciness is a bit overwhelmed by the ripe fruit character at present, but we expect it to emerge as the wine evolves. WARNING: production is down significantly this year, and our distributors all want more of this wine than they got last year.
