Belle Pente Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton District 03
winery: Belle Pente
A new offering from Belle Pente, mainly from Estate young vine fruit, with lots of blue fruit flavors that may be from the Wadenswil clone. The nose is all blueberry, herbs, and violets, the flavors are blueberry, plum, blackberry, with a sweet streak of spice. It's so well balanced, a wine that shows the art of the winemaker in a hot, difficult vintage. Excellent price/performance.

MORE INFORMATION
From the winery: "We're thrilled to celebrate the birth of our new appellation with a new wine made exclusively from grapes grown within the AVA! This will become part of our regular line-up, providing a bridge between the more general Willamette Valley bottling and the more specific single vineyard wines. This wine is primarily from young vines in our Belle Pente Estate vineyard, and provides a great introduction to the sensory elements derived from the ancient sedimentary soils in the YC District. Deeper and darker than the Willamette Valley blend, it shows more blue and black fruits with herbal and floral notes. It is also more structured, with ripe tannins balanced by sweet, sappy fruit, and supported with a higher percentage of new oak. Concentrated, ripe, and balanced, it shows the 2003 vintage at it's best. It is also an outstanding value, offering many of the attributes of single vineyard wines at a fraction of the price."
