Broadley Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir 08
Broadley Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir 08 - The aromas are focused and appealingly creamy notes of raspberry and cherry fruit. The same fruitiness is apparent on the tongue, with a bright, and fresh edge to the cherry and black raspberry flavor concentration. There is also a nice sweetness to the fruit, and hints of dried herbs, a touch of minerality, and notes of dried wood that add depth and complexity.

"Our Estate bottling shows the power of our site. Composed of a variety of blocks containing older and newer vines, it represents a cross-section of the flavors producted by our warmer version of the Willamette Valley's "cool" climate - and at a price that allows a larger number of consumers to experience the "Broadley difference."

2004 Broadly Estate tasting notes:
Oh my- most pleasant. Scents are of big, meaty, toasty oak, black fruit, black cherry dominant, and sweet toasty cinnamon. Flavors are of black berry, black currant, plum, and black cherry, Marcus called it a "mixed fruit pie". There's lovely hints of toasted cinnamon stick and pie spice in the mid palate, and the finish lingers sweet and spicy, with subtle hints of incense and a big hit of violets. Tannins are seamless, and acidity is present in balanced levels, indicating a wine that will cellar well. A very very satisfying wine for now or for 2006-2011. - jy Creamy leafy aromas with roasted spices and earthy fruit notes. Opens with a round and drying chocolate cherry fruitiness, but changes into more rapsberry flavors, finishing with good weight and soft tannins. Highly recommended.
From the winery: "Broadley Vineyards Estate Pinot noir (known in previous vintages as our Reserve wine) represents the character of our grapes, soil, and climate-these are the wines that reflect the unique terroir of our vineyard as a whole. Only our own estate grapes go into the final Estate blend. We destem this fruit and ferment it in open top stainless steel fermenters. The wines are aged for 12 months in 30% new oak barrels and 70% one and two yeard old barrels. Like all our wines, the Estate Pinot noir is bottled unfined and unfiltered."
