Broadley Vineyards Pinot noir Willamette Valley 08

Winery: Broadley

Broadley Vineyards Pinot noir Willamette Valley 08 - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 Points

"Broadley's 2008 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley was bottled in June, 2009. A blend of three vineyards, it is a preview of just how good the 2008 vintage is in Willamette Valley. It offers up the superb perfume characteristic of the vintage; unlike 2007 in which spice notes dominate the aromatics, in 2008 fruit and floral aromas have the upper hand. On the palate it has layered, succulent cherry and raspberry fruit with excellent depth and balancing acidity. It has enough structure to evolve for several years but there is no need to defer your gratification. It is a sensational value in Pinot Noir". - The Wine Advocate

Dark opaque, unfiltered, the scents, upon opening, are of black raspberry and spice. Flavors are juicy, with big black fruit. Blackberry and a bit of black cherry are refreshing, with a racy natural acidity. Ready to drink, approachable, but balanced, this wine will age for 2-5 years. - the winery

The Broadley Vineyard 2007 Willamette Valley Pinot noir's aroma of sweet raspberry fruit blossoms out from the glass. The scent is intense and intriguing - raspberries mix with a hint of roses and spice. Flavors of sweet, fresh red raspberries echo in the flavor, with red cherry, sweet cinnamon, and seamless but structured tannins finishing the wine. Ready to drink, it works as a sipping wine, and is balanced well for pairing with food.

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes

Previous vintage tasting notes: The Broadley 2006 is a great indicator of Oregon's 2006 vintage: fruit forward, fun, and juicy. Full of fat red currant, bing cherry and layers of earth on the finish. The tannins are slight and very approachable, ready to drink but would also age well for at least a couple years. Exceptional for the price, it makes you want to drink more.

EXCELLENT VALUE. Broadley's "value" bottling, a blend of grapes from the Willamette Valley. Grapes are from younger vines of the Broadley Estate Vineyard and from High Pass Vineyard. The grapes are mostly Dijon clones. This vintage is ready to drink, with aromas of black cherries and spice. It's a mouthful of broad, lush, black cherry flavors, one of those easy drinking darkly colored Pinots that are hard to find at this price. GOES FAST!
