MORE INFORMATION
Nebbiolo is the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco and is hardly ever seen outside the confines of Piedmont. It takes its name from "nebbia" which is Italian for fog, a frequent phenomenon in the region.
From the winery: "A notoriousy pernickety grape, it demands a sheltered south facing site such as that of Cascade Cliffs vineyard. Nebbiolo is a late ripener and produces wine of high acidity and with high tannins. Our wine is perfumed with aromas of tar, rose, mint, chocolate, licorice and truffles. This wine ages brilliantly."
